OS Data Hub throttling?

Access Ordnance Survey premium maps without throttling or blocking

OS Data Hub is a service which provides access to premium Ordnance Survey maps and data. It does, however, have some limitations. One shortcoming is that maps and data are served subject to OS Data Hub throttling. As a licensed partner of Ordnance Survey, Europa Technologies has an award-winning solution to address this problem.

OS Data Hub Throttling

OS Data Hub throttling?

The risk of throttling in OS Data Hub is a significant danger for users who wish to access premium Ordnance Survey map content reliably and consistently. With per minute-based limits on access, a surge in use can cause your applications to become blocked with HTTP error 429 – “Rate limit quota violation. Quota limit exceeded“. Irritatingly, if this error is not anticipated it can present as an intermittent software fault, which is difficult to diagnose. For both public sector and commercial organisations, any incapacitation in a mapping service is a severe hindrance to operations.

Fortunately, Europa Technologies has the solution. As an authorised Ordnance Survey Partner, we offer an alternative to OS Data Hub called viaEuropa, which does not utilise any throttling or blocking.
