Europa Technologies looks back with viaEuropa “Time Machine”

PRESS RELEASE – 9 May 2022

Europa Technologies has announced a significant enhancement to its award-winning location intelligence platform, viaEuropa. “Time Machine” provides simple, high-performance access to historical Ordnance Survey data. The service will initially support over five years of quarterly history, from Q1/2017 to present day, with plans to extend the historical coverage even further. Time Machine will launch with full zoom stacks of OS raster products including 25k, 50k, 250k and MiniScale. viaEuropa offers the historical content in British National Grid and Web Mercator projections through OGC-compliant WMTS and WMS services.

Warren Vick, Founder & Director of Europa Technologies said, “In response to customer requests, we are delighted to announce this important new dimension to our viaEuropa service. The ability to easily summon historical mapping has many valuable applications and the use of Ordnance Survey open and premium products means that our spatial and temporal records are from a dependable and authoritative source. In response to customer demand, we will look to extend the service to include other OS products.”
