Europa Technologies completes
ELF work before Christmas!

PRESS RELEASE – 28 November 2016

Since March 2013, Europa Technologies has been part of the European Location Framework (ELF) project. This ambitious venture has delivered a pan-European cloud platform for the provision of definitive and harmonised digital map data across Europe.

ELF has brought together over forty participating organisations into a collaborative consortium which includes national & regional mapping and cadastral agencies, software developers, application providers and academic/research organisations.

Europa Technologies’ role has been to develop two pilot applications that help to illustrate the potential uses of the platform. These are an insurance risk assessment application (‘ELF Risk Insight’) and a mobile network coverage application (‘ELF Network Insight’).

Forty-four months after the commencement, we are pleased to confirm the successful completion of our activities. The project will now come under the stewardship of EuroGeographics as it is used to build future European Location Services. In the words of Duncan Hill, Business Development Director, “We are delighted to have had the opportunity to work with so many leading geospatial organisations across Europe to deliver an exemplar location platform. We now look forward to working with EuroGeographics as they oversee the transition to an operational service.”
