Leading geospatial solutions provider Europa Technologies today reveals the availability of ground hazards data through its new partnership with British Geological Survey (BGS). BGS, part of the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC), is the nation’s principal supplier of objective, impartial and up-to-date geological expertise and information for decision making for governmental, commercial and individual users.
This new partnership enables Europa Technologies to supply and utilise BGS hazard models, including risk of subsidence data, on behalf of its clients in insurance and other sectors, and also integrate the models into the Risk Insight risk assessment solution. Significantly, the data will also be made available through viaEuropa web services, enabling users to visualise the risk of subsidence and other ground hazards to their assets without having to manage and maintain complex datasets in-house.
Mike Ackroyd, British Geological Survey, comments: “We are delighted to welcome Europa Technologies as a value-added reseller of our data. It is great to see them helping their clients to use our data for hazard analysis and visualisation. We look forward to working together to bring these benefits to others within the insurance sector and beyond.”
Duncan Hill, Business Development Director at Europa Technologies, adds: “We are pleased to add hazard data from BGS to our growing portfolio of data from best-of-breed suppliers. BGS is widely acknowledged as being the leading supplier of ground hazards to the insurance sector and we see great potential in other markets also, including within the utilities and public sectors.”
