Geospatial solutions provider Europa Technologies has announced an update to its market-leading digital global map data products. The new 2014.2 version will be available across the entire global data product suite, including Global Insight, Global Insight Plus, Global Discovery, Global Elements, Global 360 and Global CRESTA Plus.
The new release includes updated first and second level administrative boundaries and new high resolution upgrades to coastlines. The popular time zones layers has been updated to reflect changes to daylight saving time (DST) world-wide in 2014/2015.
A new shaded relief layer based on a 15 arcsecond (approximately 500m) grid has been added. With four times the resolution of previous layers, this layer can provides natural shading to introduce an attractive physical element to any base map.
Global CRESTA Plus, the independent implementation of the CRESTA zone standard used by insurers and reinsurers now features dedicated base map layers to match the larger scale zone geometry.
In addition to thousands of other updates and minor improvements, this release is the first to feature a digitally signed installer. This provides end users with peace-of-mind that a downloaded product is authentic and unaltered.
