Mapping resources to combat the Coronavirus pandemic

During these unprecedented and uncertain times, it is important for all types of organisation, whatever their size, to do what they can in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Europa Technologies has released free products and services to any organisation at the forefront of the relief effort.

What COVID-19 mapping resources are available?

There are two main COVID-19 mapping resources available:

  • viaEuropa web services, including premium Ordnance Survey digital map data
  • Global map data from Europa Technologies

viaEuropa is the award-winning hosted map and API platform from Europa Technologies. It delivers high quality, fully maintained, digital maps and geodata directly to your web applications, desktop GIS and mobile apps. Use viaEuropa to drive location intelligent solutions quickly, easily and efficiently.

viaEuropa will be made available to qualifying organisations free of service fees and OS licence fees until 30 Sept 2020. The service includes access to Ordnance Survey premium data, including OS VectorMap Local and OS MasterMap Topography Layer, under the OS Mapping for Emergencies Programme.

Global Map Data

Global Map Data

Europa Technologies is also making its renowned global map data available to organisations tracking the pandemic on an international basis.

What are the conditions?

The services and data are available to any organisation solely for the purpose of COVID-19 initiatives (planning and response).

The inclusion of Ordnance Survey premium data is made available under the OS Mapping for Emergencies Programme. Data may be used in specific support of COVID-19 related activities, free of OS Licence Fees until 30 September 2020. The OS Mapping for Emergencies programme is designed to support the UK resilience community in moments of national emergency.
