World map data provider, Europa Technologies, has released a major new version of its extensive range of digital map products. The range, which includes Global Discovery, Global Insight Plus and Global Insight, is now available with immediate shipping. The release uses a new version naming convention "2009.1", representing the first quarter release of 2009.

Almost every data layer, within each product, has been enhanced and updated to provide clients with a more accurate and complete view of the world, from pole to pole. Existing clients upgrading to version 2009.1 and new clients will benefit from the following new and improved features:

• Increase to over 850,000 place names
• Updated road networks for several countries
• Over 5,000 lakes named
• Cartographic styling improvements
• Accuracy improvements for islands, ports, place names & coastlines
• New and updated 1st level administrative divisions for over 65 countries
• Improved and restyled raster topography
